Permeable bricks are functional components installed at the bottom of a steel ladle, used to inject inert gases (such as argon) into the molten steel within the ladle. Before using permeable bricks, it's crucial to understand their function and failure mechanisms to reduce wear and tear and save costs.

The porous core is an important component of refined refractory materials. In most out-of-furnace refining equipment, porous bricks are used to blow in inert gases (such as argon) to enhance the stirring of the molten pool and ensure uniform temperature and composition. The porous core plays a very important role in out-of-furnace refining.

Bottom-blown argon technology for steel ladle permeable bricks

Argon blowing usually refers to installing one or several porous bricks at the bottom of a casting ladle or brick-lined ladle. After steel tapping, argon is blown in through the porous bricks to stir the molten steel in the ladle. Generally, manufacturers use porous brick argon blowing technology in continuous casting, which can adjust the temperature of the molten steel.
