I. Functions of Permeable Bricks
1. During refining, argon gas is blown into the ladle through a tail pipe to stir the molten steel, quickly dispersing and melting added alloys and deoxidizers, allowing gases and impurities in the steel to rise, achieving the purpose of clean steel;
2. Uniform steel liquid temperature and composition to achieve the optimal casting temperature.
II. Damage Mechanisms of Permeable Bricks
1. High concentration of thermal stress, the working surface repeatedly subjected to rapid cooling and heating may cause cracks or even breakage in the permeable brick. (Steel ladle baking 1000℃, steel water inlet temperature around 1600℃);
2. During steel tapping and argon stirring of the molten steel, the permeable brick is subjected to strong scouring and shearing wear by the high-temperature molten steel (slightly higher/flat);
3. Erosion and penetration by molten steel and slag can cause corrosion and spalling of the permeable brick.
III. Requirements for Permeable Bricks
