In terms of service life, bottom blowing effect and safety and reliability, compared with slit aeration bricks, anti-seepage aeration bricks have the advantage of stable air permeability, which can effectively prevent steel penetration at the working surface of the aeration bricks; after steel pouring, the required air permeability can be achieved without cleaning or intermittent cleaning, which significantly reduces the labor intensity of workers and reduces part of the energy consumption; the service life is significantly improved, and the safety factor of aeration bricks is also improved.

For slit aeration bricks, the number of slits and the single/double slit form depend on the size of the ladle, the smelting environment and the required air permeability, so the production process of this type of aeration brick is more complex; anti-seepage aeration bricks are made by controlling the particle size of the materials, thus producing a large number of pores throughout the dispersed block, forming a uniform microporous structure, so the production process is relatively simple. The bottom of the anti-seepage brick has a slit-type design, which is equivalent to a small slit aeration brick. During use, when a slit gas channel is observed at the working surface of the aeration brick during hot repair, it indicates that the remaining length of the aeration brick is insufficient and the ladle needs to be taken offline.

Among domestic aeration brick manufacturers, the performance of anti-seepage aeration bricks is lower than that of slit aeration bricks.
